Composite Fillings and Bonding
Tooth-colored composite resin fillings have largely replaced silver amalgam as the standard for restoring carious or damaged teeth. At DentARF, we use nano-hybrid composite materials that closely replicate the optical properties of natural enamel and dentin — including translucency, surface texture, and color matching.
Composite bonding extends the same principle to purely aesthetic applications: closing diastemas (gaps between teeth), reshaping chipped or worn edges, covering discoloration, and even altering the proportions of teeth without any reduction of tooth structure. No drilling or anesthesia is typically required for bonding procedures, making them one of the most conservative aesthetic treatments available.
The process begins with shade selection under clinical lighting. The composite is then layered incrementally, sculpted freehand by the clinician, and cured with a high-intensity LED light. Final polishing creates a smooth surface that resists staining and mimics the natural gloss of enamel. Results last 5–8 years with proper care and can be easily repaired if chipped.
